- If you want to stroll down memory lane, or see what computers used to look like 40 years ago, here’s a great list, which features the TRS-80 that Dan mentions: https://www.pcmag.com/feature/340081/golden-age-of-trs-80-a-look-back-at-radioshack-computers
- While it’s a couple of years old, here’s an article on the technology used in fire fighting. So two years old or not, this article gives a great example of what tech is out there. https://www.firechief.com/2016/12/12/7-firefighting-products-that-made-me-say-wow-in-2016-and-my-2017-wishlist/
Food for Thought
While this show focuses on digital technologies, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that technology only recently defaulted to mean digital. With that in mind, did you know that the first water pump for firefighting was invented in ancient Alexandria by a man named Ctesibius (the C is silent). He was a prolific inventor but in a bout of irony all of his inventions were lost when the library of Alexandria burnt to the ground. More on pumps: https://www.fireresearch.com/frcnews/archives/63
