- Created (FaceSmash) in 2003 by not just Mark Zuckerberg but also, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughs.

- Only platform with quizzes and games.
- Offers people and places profile pages and groups.
- Big trouble with interference with politics and propagating fake news

- Smaller amount of info posts
- Bonus FfT = the original limit of 140 characters -was due to on early cell phones limits

- Used by journalists/activists to break news, on global, national, and local levels
- Hashtags are useful here, too.
- Used by scammers and, well, Russians.
- Bots, or software that acts as a real person, are used for this.
- Created in October of 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger

- Created in 2005 by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim.

- One billion hours of YouTube content viewed per day
- 500 hours of content uploaded to YouTube every minute

- Tread carefully on the comments!
- Anyone can upload videos, including things like old sporting events, movies, concerts. However, if that person doesn’t hold the copyright, it’ll will be taken down.
SoundCloud
- Created in 2007 by Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss
- Has 175 million active monthly users
- Has 320 million users

- Audio only
- Is the only one of these platforms developed outside of the US; it was developed in Germany.
